Faeryland's Farm is a renowned animal sanctuary and National Wildlife Habitat dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating a diverse range of animals. With a special focus on goats, we provide a safe and loving environment that nurtures their physical and emotional well-being. As part of our education outreach, we create engaging content and literature to raise awareness about animal welfare, nature conservation, and the importance of sustainable living. We are currently seeking a creative and passionate Graphic Designer/Book Illustrator to support our digital and print media needs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Graphic Design: Create compelling, visually captivating designs for various digital and print mediums, including website graphics, social media content, event materials, brochures, and educational resources.
2. Book Illustrations: Develop captivating and aesthetically pleasing illustrations for children's books, educational guides, and other literature centered around animal welfare and conservation topics.
3. Collaborate with the Outreach Team: Work closely with the Outreach Team to understand their design needs, brainstorm concepts, and translate ideas into visually stunning designs that convey our organization's mission and values effectively.
4.Photography/Videography Support: Occasionally assist with editing high-quality photographs or videos of our sanctuary animals, events, and educational activities to be incorporated into our designs and promotional materials.
5. Branding and Visual Identity: Contribute to the development and maintenance of our organization's visual identity guidelines, ensuring consistency across all communication channels and materials.
6. Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Trends: Continuously explore new design trends, techniques, and software to enhance the quality and impact of our visual content.
7. Time Commitment: Volunteer for a minimum of [insert expected weekly/monthly hours] and be available for occasional virtual or onsite meetings with the team.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Proficiency in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, GIMP, etc.) to create impactful and visually appealing designs.
2. Demonstrated experience in book illustration, with a portfolio showcasing a range of styles and ability to adapt to various genres and age groups.
3. Strong understanding of visual design principles, including layout, color theory, typography, and composition.
4. Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines while delivering high-quality designs consistently.
5. Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and translate their ideas and vision into compelling visual compensation will be provided. However, we believe in recognizing and appreciating the dedication and contributions of our volunteers, and will provide letters of recommendation upon request.

Faeryland’s Farm is a 501c3 non profit care farm that serves as an animal sanctuary for rescued farm animals and domesticated animals that provides a safe, effective, healing environment and uses a holistic approach to the general well-being and education of humans and animals via therapeutic and educational activities. We supply animal education programs, goat therapy, and animal reiki to help comfort animals and individuals of all ages to increase mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional health as humans learn to relate to animals in new ways. Our mission is to provide a safe space for healing.
