In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King’s Day of Service, beginning January 20, 2025, the Congressional Hunger Center will offer a concentrated version of the online End Hunger in 30 Challenge. The MLK Day of Service End Hunger Challenge includes 5 hours of content that can span five days or be completed at your convenience. Upon completion of the course, a certificate documenting five hours of volunteer service is awarded online that can be downloaded or printed.
The Challenge will focus on the most pertinent answers to the questions "What Are the Root Causes of Food Insecurity?" and "What Would It Take to End Hunger?" The End Hunger Challenge is a free online curriculum designed to build awareness and increase the knowledge of advocates fighting for food security in the United States.
Through daily lessons, including readings, videos, podcasts, online discussions and more, participants build their knowledge and advocacy skills to end hunger in their communities. The challenge is free and open to the public, so join thousands of other participants across the U.S. and sign up for the Challenge now!

Mission Statement
Our mission is to develop, inspire, and connect leaders in the movement to end hunger, and to advocate for public policies that create a food-secure world.
Description
We invest in the development of emerging leaders in the movement to end hunger in the United States and around the world. We strive to engage leaders, especially leaders who have experienced hunger and poverty and leaders of color, in bridging the gap between field and policy, community and Congress, theory and practice. Our programs:
Bill Emerson National Hunger Fellowship: A one-year program combining anti-hunger work in local communities across the United States with policy-level experience in Washington, D.C.
MIckey Leland International Hunger Fellowship: A two-year program where participants learn professional and leadership skills while strengthening food and nutrition security around the world.
Zero Hunger Internship: A ten-week summer program for college students and recent graduates to develop their leadership skills and gain on-the-job experience with anti-hunger organizations across the country.
Zero Hunger Academy: Our food security and leadership development curriculum is also available as an online learning experience for individuals or networks seeking to expand their knowledge on domestic and global hunger.
