Hope Villages of America’s mission is to provide hope restoration with dignity to those in need through innovative programs and services.

Hope Villages of America will be One Organization of staff and volunteers, a Partner Agency working alongside government, local businesses, and other nonprofits, and the Third Place - a way of life, providing hope for those in need.

As a Warehouse Assistant Volunteer, you will sort, mark barcodes and check food for quality and bag USDA food.

This is an in-person role, averaging 4 hours per week. Warehouse hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 12 noon - 4 pm. Thursday 12 noon - 4 pm and/or 4 pm - 6:30 pm. Requested length of service: 4 months.

Duties Include:
* Mark barcodes and check food for quality
* Sort food donations
* Bag USDA (TEFAP) food for distribution
* Organize plastic bags
* Box emergency food by family size
* Warehouse receiving duties

HUNGER FREE AMERICA (formerly known as the New York City Coalition Against Hunger) is a national nonprofit group building a nonpartisan, grass-roots membership movement to enact the policies and programs needed to end domestic hunger and ensure that all Americans have sufficient access to nutritious food.

Our long-term goal is not just to ameliorate the problem, but also to build the people’s movement necessary to enact the economic and public policies needed to end hunger entirely. Given that hunger drains our economy and tears at our moral and civic fabric, we know that eliminating it will boost the nation both economically and spiritually. Towards that end, we’ve adopted the motto: "Ending hunger lifts us all."
