Are you leader with a broad network of business and community relationships? Are you passionate about putting an end to Alzheimer's disease? Do you want to engage significantly with the Alzheimer's Association and the 2025 Walk to End Alzheimer's taking place in Frederick, MD in October of 2025? Then we need you!
Objective of the Chair and Executive Leadership Team (ELT):
To expand corporate engagement in the mission of the Alzheimer’s Association through participation in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
Expectations of the Executive Leadership Walk Chair/Co-Chairs:
- Serve as a Walk to End Alzheimer’s volunteer leader to ensure financial goals are met, committing approximately 3-5 hours per month during the timeline detailed below.
- Recruit 5 corporate leaders to join the ELT
- Host the corporate breakfast in May, in collaboration with the ALZ Staff Partner (Marilyn Herbert, Development Manager), and attend the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in October.
- Lead or appoint someone to serve as your company Walk Team Captain and commit to becoming a top fundraising team at your Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
- Lead ELT virtual huddle meetings (see timeline below)
- Commit your company as a sponsor.
- Leverage vendor and business relationships to secure Walk sponsors and teams.
- Become a Grand Champions Club member by reaching $1,000 or more in your personal fundraising efforts.
- Work with staff leadership to ensure success of the breakfast and Walk events.
Timeline:
Upon Recruitment: One Strategy Meeting with ALZ Staff Partner (Marilyn Herbert, Development Manager) and Orientation
March 2025 - September 2025: Bi-monthly virtual Huddles (30-minute meetings via ZOOM)
June 2025: Corporate Impact Breakfast
September 2025: In Person Full Committee Meeting at Harry Grove Stadium
October 2025: Celebrate our success on Walk Day (tentative date: 10/13/24)
November 2025: Virtual huddle and wrap-up (30-minute meeting via ZOOM)

The Alzheimer's Association offers a 24/7 Helpline (800.272.3900) to provide information and advice in more than 170 languages, over 60 support groups in Greater Maryland that provide a safe and confidential enviroment for conversation, support, guidance and resources, a variety of education programs for families, professionals and individuals facing dementia, safety services for people with Alzheimer's who wander, early stage engagement programs, care consulations and referrals for services to aid those living with Alzheimer's and their caregivers. The Alzheimer's Association is the leading voice for Alzheimer's disease advocary, fighting for critical research, prevention and care initiatives at the state and federal levels.
