Mock Interview

Mission: BestPrep prepares students with business, career, and financial literacy skills through hands-on experiences that inspire success in work and life.

BestPrep is a Minnesota-based nonprofit organization that provides educational programs to students in grades 4-12, with the mission of preparing students with business, career, and financial literacy skills through hands-on experiences that inspire success in work and life. BestPrep works with companies to bridge the gap between classroom learning and skills utilized in the workplace. Since its inception in 1976, BestPrep has served more than 1.8 million Minnesota students and teachers with the education and resources to ensure students are college-prepared, work-ready, and career-bound.

The Mock Interviewer Volunteer Role, part of BestPrep’s Classroom Plus program:

The goal of BestPrep’s Mock Interviews is to give students practice and exposure to the interview process. All that you will need to be a great Mock Interviewer is enthusiasm, understanding, and common sense.

Our program connects professionals - like you - with students, offering them real-world interview practice, valuable feedback, and insights into the professional world.

By volunteering to be a BestPrep Mock Interviewer, you’ll help shape the future workforce, boost students’ confidence, and contribute to their career readiness.

Mock interview volunteer fast facts:

  • The events generally last between 1-2 hours.
  • Each interview will take around 15 minutes with additional time for student feedback included.
  • You can expect to complete on average between 4-6 interviews.
  • You will receive detailed instructions from BestPrep and the classroom teacher prior to the event.
  • BestPrep provides a list of sample interviewing questions to use as a guide during the interviews.
  • You can volunteer as an individual, a small team of coworkers, or as a large group.
