No Veteran Dies Alone: A Veteran-to-Veteran Volunteer Opportunity

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Unity Hospice of Chicagoland, Northwest Indiana, Greater St. Louis and Houston

Veterans

We invite you to make a difference in the life of a fellow military veteran! You were there for each other when you served so very far away from home and family, and we invite you to make that same difference today. You can be a listening ear for a veteran who is facing another tough battle, a life-limiting illness.

Unity is committed to providing our Veterans with premier end-of-life care. We arrange a Hospice for Heroes ceremony for each Unity Hospice Veteran, and it can be videoed as an everlasting legacy of what they have done for us. The patient is presented with a beautifully boxed American flag and an official salute is conducted, thanking them for their service.

We are an active part of the "We Honor Veterans" program

Veteran volunteers are needed to visit with patients and to participate in and conduct honoring ceremonies.

We welcome questions about this volunteer position! Please feel free to contact us, even if you're unsure this is the right fit for you. Let's talk about what meets your needs and has an impact on the people who need your time and talents. We provide care to patients in many areas of Houston, therefore our staff and volunteers service the areas in which they live. We will meet you where you are!
