Overview: Operation Meraki seeks a dynamic and detail-oriented Event Coordinator to bring our initiatives to life through engaging and impactful events. As an Event Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in planning and executing virtual and in-person events, fostering community connections, and ensuring the success of our mission-driven gatherings.

Responsibilities:

  • Event Planning: Lead the planning and execution of events, including logistics, venue selection, scheduling, and coordination of event elements.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the team to ensure that events align with the organization's goals and effectively communicate our mission.

  • Vendor and Sponsor Management: Coordinate with vendors, sponsors, and partners to secure resources, support, and sponsorship for events.

  • Promotion: Develop and implement promotional strategies for Operation Meraki's events to maximize attendance and engagement.

  • On-site Management: Oversee on-site event logistics, manage volunteers, and troubleshoot any issues to ensure attendees' smooth and enjoyable experience.

Qualifications:

  • Event Planning Experience: Proven experience planning and executing events, from small community gatherings to larger-scale initiatives.

  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, timelines, and details associated with event planning.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey event details, goals, and impact to both team members and participants.

  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to think on your feet and address challenges that may arise during events, ensuring a positive experience for all attendees.

  • Team Player: Collaborative mindset with the ability to work seamlessly with a diverse team and external partners.

Time Commitment: The time commitment for this role is flexible, with an estimated 5-10 hours per week. Additional time may be required leading up to and during event periods.
