Crosswalk Facility Ministry volunteers help us bring the love and hope of Christ to youth who have found themselves detained in one of Georgia’s juvenile detention facilities. Some Crosswalk Facility Ministry volunteers feel called to serve in person, while some feel called to help behind the scenes. A few of the things our volunteers do include:
In person:
- Helping set up and clean up
- Engage with students and facility staff members in intentional conversation, helping to build relationships
- Encourage students to see the value of community, building trust & healthy relationships
- Work alongside the staff in teaching the Bible lesson
- Pray with youth and staff when requested
- Pray for the incarcerated youth and staff by name
- Talk about your volunteer experience with the community
- Recruit new volunteers
- Spread the word about the Crosswalk Facility Ministry programming and needs
- Assist with fundraising efforts
Behind The Scenes:
- Pray for the incarcerated youth by name
- Make Birthday Cakes, Cupcakes, Cookie Cakes, Brownie Cakes, etc.
- Pick up/Drop off donated supplies
- Help Crosswalk Facility Ministry Staff prep lesson materials and/or projects
- Spread the word about the Crosswalk Facility Ministry programming and needs
- Assist with fundraising efforts
