JoyRx Music draws on the universal power of music to energize and lift spirits. Our trained musicians help children find Joy during the stressful and painful experiences related to extended hospitalizations and treatments for life-threatening illnesses.

Our volunteer musicians are a critical piece of this program, filling the hospital lobbies and hallways with music. This truly transforms the hospital environment for kids, families, and staff from the moment they enter the building.

About Children's Cancer Association

Location:

1200 NW Naito Pkwy Suite 140, Portland, OR 97209, US

Mission Statement

At JoyRx, the mission delivery of Children’s Cancer Association, we know it takes more than medicine to treat cancer and serious illness. When a child is facing life’s most challenging moments, they also need emotional healing.

Description

JoyRx knows that for seriously ill children and their families every moment is precious. That’s why our programs leverage music, friendship, play, and resources to create transformative moments of joy for 28,000 children, teens, and their family members each year. We believe kids deserve long, wonderful lives. Or at the very least, short wonderful lives. Unlike many organizations dedicated to the worthy goal of someday finding a cure for cancer, JoyRx is all about creating joy today. See our programs in action at JoyRx.org.
