Yosemite needs volunteer camp hosts for Bridalveil Creek, Hodgdon Meadow, Crane Flat,Tamarack Flat, White Wolf, Porcupine Flat, and Yosemite Creekcampgrounds. Camp hosts are front line representatives of the NPS and play a crucial role in the successful operation of park campgrounds. They help provide a safe, positive, and educational visitor experience. Work schedule is approximately 32-40 hours per week including weekends and holidays.
Campground Amenities:
Bridalveil Creek has 2 host sites with sewer/water hook-ups. It is off Glacier Point Road at 8,000ft. Season dates depend on Glacier Point Road opening and local conditions- est. June-September. This developed, 110-site standard non-electric campground accommodates tents, RVs, and trailers. It has 2 group sites and 3 horse sites.
Hodgdon Meadow has 2 host sites with full hook-ups. Season runs from April-October. It contains 108 standard non-electric sites accommodating tents, RVs, and trailers. Hodgdon is along the Big Oak Flat Road near the park entrance at 4,900ft.
Crane Flat has 2 hosts sites, 1 with sewer/water hookups and 1 dry site (no hookups). Campground is along the Big Oak Flat Rd, 8 miles east of the park entrance. Season dates depend on conditions; est. May-October. This 151-site (standard non-electric) developed campground sits at 6,200ft and accommodates tents, RVs, and trailers.
White Wolf has 2 hosts sites, 1 with sewer/water hook-ups only and 1 dry site (no hookups). It is on a 2 mile paved road off Tioga Road at 8,000ft. Season dates depend on Tioga Road opening. This developed 74-site standard non-electric campground accommodates tents, RVs, and trailers.
The following campgrounds are primitive for tents, vans, and truck campers 20ft or less. RVs/ trailers not recommended. All have vault toilets and no potable water. There is a seasonal creek that flows until late July (water must be filtered, treated, or boiled). All season dates depend on Tioga Road opening:
Tamarack Flat has 2 dry host sites (no hookups). This primitive 55-site campground is 3 miles from Tioga Road by a fully paved (but very windy and narrow) road. The campground sits at 6,300ft.
Porcupine Flat has 1 dry host site (no hookups). This primitive 55-site campground is15 miles west of Tuolumne Meadows along Tioga Road at 8,100ft.
Yosemite Creek has 2 dry host sites (no hookups). The access road is 4.5 miles long mostly unpaved; high clearance vehicles recommended. This 75-site primitive campground is at 7,700ft.
