Every Meal's mission is to fight child hunger through community and school partnerships. Visit everymeal.org to learn more about what we do and how you can help.

As a Food Bag Packing Volunteer, you’ll join other members of the community at our Volunteer Center in Roseville to help pack food for our Weekend Meal Program. In this high-energy and high-impact volunteer opportunity, you’ll form assembly lines to pack bags containing 4-5 Lbs of shelf-stable fruits, vegetables, proteins and grains. Every food bag we distribute to hungry children in our community is packed by volunteers. Food bags are placed in the backpacks of students at the end of each school week to provide nutrition over the weekend.

You can register for our packing events as a team or an individual.

Our age minimum to volunteer is 8 years old.

Closed-toed shoes are required for volunteering. Masks are currently not required.

Please note: No experience or diploma needed; Every Meal will provide all necessary training. We strongly encourage people of color, indigenous, immigrants, refugees, LGBTQ+, and people with disabilities to volunteer.

About Every Meal

Location:

2723 Patton Road, Roseville, MN 55113, US

Mission Statement

Fight child hunger through community and school partnerships.

Description

In 2013, Every Meal wondered how they could reach other children in the Twin Cities who live with food insecurity. They saw the need for developing a larger growth strategy and what emerged is their network model of weekend food programs. That fall, Every Meal incorporated as a separate non-profit organization and launched pilot programs in three additional schools in Minneapolis reaching a total of 500 children in five schools. The pilot programs were successful and the team implemented a full launch.

Since then, Every Meal has grown from serving one school with a weekend food program to implementing multiple food gap programs serving over 10,000 children across 500 locations... and counting.

Every Meal continues to see incredible growth in its impact on child hunger in the Twin Cities and across Minnesota. With its strong school and community partnerships, Every Meal continues its work with the community to grow and reach more children - see an updated map of all of our programs here: https://www.everymeal.org/what-we-do/where-we-work/

As we look back at our history and look forward to the future, we are struck by the fact that food insecurity is a problem throughout the state and is not a one- or two-school issue. More than 300,000 children in Minnesota live in food insecurity. Our mission is to fight child hunger by developing more partnerships between the community and schools.
