QCH with tagline

Queen Community House's Friendly Visiting Program matches homebound older adults with volunteers in their community, creating intergenerational relationships in Central and Southeast Queens. We aim to reduce isolation and loneliness amongst seniors in our neighborhoods and communities.

We are looking for a volunteer who speaks Creole, loves music and dancing for our homebound Older Adult. Together, the older adult and volunteer can discuss shared interests and hobbies, via telephone calls, In-Person visits, or video calls.

Friendly Visitors must be 18 and over, be open to committing to 6 months of volunteerism, and a background check is required to participate in the program. Volunteers can either call an older adult or do in-person visits upon approval.

Email us at volunteer@qchnyc.org for more information!

QCH was formed in 1975 (as Forest Hills Community House) to help heal the wounds of a neighborhood conflict.
