Project Overview

About St. Vincent de Paul of Alameda
In Alameda County, 325,000 people face hunger or live in poverty. Through our programs, volunteers and community partners provide direct services to those in need. Whether it's spending time in our Community Center, staying warm and safe in our shelter, or eating a hot meal in our Dining Room, people are able to meet their most basic needs five days a week at St. Vincent de Paul of Alameda County.
Project Requirements & Important Notes
Please always wear nonslip closed-toe shoes, ankle length bottoms, short or long sleeve shirt, and do not bring any non-essential personal items as we do not have a place to store them.
Please do your part in keeping our community healthy. If you are immuno-compromised, at increased risk for severe illness, or feeling sick at all, please decline your registration to the event and register for a project at a less risky time. For additional resources and guidance on how to keep yourself healthy, visit the CDC website.
If you are driving, we have a secure parking lot, strictly for volunteers/staff, at 675 23rd Street between San Pablo Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Way. Pull up to the gate closest to San Pablo and honk. Someone inside will open the gate. If you are walking or being dropped off, we have a door at the 23rd Street address. Ring the bell and a staff member will let you in. When you are getting picked up, please have your parent/guardian pick you up inside (they can pull up to the gate and honk and we’ll let them in). Never wait outside. When you arrive, you will need to sign in on the computer using the following number: your phone number without the area code. (please be sure to log out at the end of the day as well).
If you are interested in signing up as a group, please email sarah@handsonbayarea.org. For a one-time $50 group sign-up fee, we can assist your team with signing up and coordinating with the agency partner for possible accommodation.
