  • This role, if selected, will go about a process to serve on the Board as a Board of Directors with a special focus on Community events for a three year term.
Duties, as followed with a caveat, could change in time:
  • Collaborate and coordinate all community events.
  • Attend meetings of organizations, if necessary, to gather pertinent information and relay information to the Board.
  • Serve as a lead volunteer to encourage ongoing commitment
  • Assess the number of volunteers needed and required
  • Design and provide speaker training to interested volunteers
  • Serve as point of contact for organizing speakers, speaking engagements, and events
  • Follow up after events and speaking engagements to evaluate needs and success
  • Direct conversations, information, and applications for PFLAG National Convention or other significant related events

Description

PFLAG San Antonio is a local chapter of PFLAG National. Founded in 1973, PFLAG is the first and largest organization dedicated to supporting, educating, and advocating for LGBTQ+ people and their families. We have been supporting the San Antonio community since 1994.

We have a mission to support LGBTQ+ folks, and their families and allies, offering peer support meetings to help in trying times.
We also have educational programs, like presentations by community organizations, as well as attending events in the community to educate on resources.
We also advocate for equality for LGBTQ+ folks and their families.
