Is your love language taking care of others? Our hosts are the welcoming and supporting faces our guests meet when they come into Building B of our Day Center. Responsibilities include checking-in guests for their meals and/or shower appointments, providing beverage service, and assisting with other activities in Building B. This is a great opportunity for those who love chatting with people or are interested in social work as they gain experience working with our case management system. We will train you - no experience necessary.
Host shifts are Monday-Thursday in the morning from 7:45:00am-11:30am and in the afternoon 11:30am-2:10pm. On Fridays, host shifts are 7:45am- 12:10pm.

Description
Our vision is that the homeless and hungry have a place on the Monterey Peninsula where they can access food, clothing, a caring community, and connections to resources and services.
Gathering for Women is a caring community...
- Where homeless women can get a hot meal, free clothing and limited emergency assistance.
- Where health, mental health, and other service providers can connect with homeless women to offer them help.
- Where homeless women can learn how to keep themselves safe and healthy.
- Where the community can learn from homeless women about what they need.
- Where housing providers can connect with, screen, and place women into permanent housing.
Gathering for Women is a non-profit organization funded through grants and individual and organizational contributions. We also accept donations of food, warm clothing, rain gear, camping equipment (tarps, sleeping bags and tents), and toiletries such as small containers of sunscreen, hand sanitizers, and deodorants.
