Our Front Desk volunteers are the first and last person to interact with our guests. Your smiles, patience, and kindness make a huge difference in each guest's experience. This is a great opportunity for individuals hoping to gain general clerical experience, especially for those interested in social work, case management, working at a non-profit, or with at-risk populations and women. This role requires sitting at a desk, answering phone calls, answering questions our guests may have and navigating creating their daily appointments.
Our Day Center is open for guests from 8am-2pm Monday through Thursday and 8am-Noon on Fridays. Morning shifts on Monday-Thursday are 7:45am- 11:30am with afternoon shifts from 11:15am-2:00pm. Friday shifts are from 7:45am-12:00pm.

Description
Our vision is that the homeless and hungry have a place on the Monterey Peninsula where they can access food, clothing, a caring community, and connections to resources and services.
Gathering for Women is a caring community...
- Where homeless women can get a hot meal, free clothing and limited emergency assistance.
- Where health, mental health, and other service providers can connect with homeless women to offer them help.
- Where homeless women can learn how to keep themselves safe and healthy.
- Where the community can learn from homeless women about what they need.
- Where housing providers can connect with, screen, and place women into permanent housing.
Gathering for Women is a non-profit organization funded through grants and individual and organizational contributions. We also accept donations of food, warm clothing, rain gear, camping equipment (tarps, sleeping bags and tents), and toiletries such as small containers of sunscreen, hand sanitizers, and deodorants.
