ORGANIZATION: FIRST LOVE YOURSELF

First Love Yourself (FLY) is a dynamic and growing nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth through the cultivation of self-love. Our mission is to instill a foundation of self-worth and positive self-perception in young minds through research-based, accessible curriculum and skills training, specifically designed for at-promise youth. FLY is committed to creating a supportive community that fosters personal growth and well-being.

Position Overview: First Love Yourself is seeking passionate and committed individuals to join our Board of Directors. As a Board Member, you will play a crucial role in providing strategic guidance, governance, and support to help FLY achieve its mission. This volunteer opportunity offers a unique chance to contribute to the organizational development of a nonprofit focused on making a positive impact on the lives of youth.

Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development and refinement of FLY's strategic plan, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and goals.

  2. Governance: Provide oversight and participate in decision-making processes to ensure FLY operates in accordance with its bylaws and applicable regulations.

  3. Fundraising: Actively participate in fundraising initiatives, leveraging personal and professional networks to secure financial support for FLY's programs.

  4. Advocacy: Advocate for FLY's mission and programs, representing the organization to the community, donors, and other stakeholders.

  5. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with fellow Board Members and FLY's leadership team, attending regular board meetings, committee meetings, and participating in special projects.

  6. Networking: Leverage personal and professional networks to cultivate partnerships, sponsorships, and collaborations that benefit FLY.

Qualifications:

  1. Passion for the mission and vision of First Love Yourself.
  2. Previous board experience is a plus but not required; we welcome individuals who are enthusiastic about contributing their skills and perspective.
  3. Commitment to attend regular board meetings and participate in committee work.
  4. Ability to contribute expertise in areas such as fundraising, finance, marketing, or program development.

Time Commitment: Board Members are expected to attend regular board meetings and participate in committee work, with an estimated time commitment of 5-10 hours per month.
