El Centro de la Raza’s Food Bank is looking for a bilingual (English/Spanish) AmeriCorps member for the 2023-24 year! El Centro de la Raza’s Food Bank program meets a critical need for low-income, food insecure individuals and families in the communities we serve. This position will perform essential tasks to ensure the smooth running of food bank operations, including logistics, procurement, inventory, receiving, packing and distribution of food supplies to low-income BIPOC community members.
Duties include: Assist with food distribution to low-income BIPOC community members; Assist with food bank inventory planning, receiving, tracking of outgoing deliveries; Assist with supply stocking, packing; Help provide referrals to additional assistance support programs from El Centro to food bank clients; Support overall operations of food bank.
Benefits of an AmeriCorps position include: A monthly stipend to cover living expenses; An education award of up to $6,895 that can be used for future schooling or to pay off existing qualified student loan debt; Basic health insurance; and workers’ compensation coverage. AmeriCorps members must be citizens of the United States. Positions begin as soon as this month and end in July 2024!
