This is an ideal opportunity for a retired person who loves children, can relate to the position of being a foster care child and all that it entails. Also this volunteer ideally would have a real understanding and love of horses and dogs and how valuable and intuitive they are in aiding in the healing and positive developmental process. This volunteer also would possess skills on the computer and efficient office practice. The position is virtual or in person, whichever you prefer. Since we are a new 501 (C)(3) in start up mode, several hours a week dedicated to our media needs would be needed. You are very welcome to join us in making a difference in the lives of many children who will positively benefit over a lifetime because of their experience at Jesse's Place.

About JESSES PLACE FOUNDATION

Location:

6505 GRIFFITH LAKE DR, MILFORD, DE 19963, US

Mission Statement

Jesse's Place Foundation, a 501 (C)(3) nonprofit corporation serves children of all ages in or from the Foster Care system who have suffered trauma by helping to build self esteem and self worth through using rescued horses and rescued therapy dogs.

Description

Jesse's Place was preceded by another nonprofit that I founded and successfully operated for over 12 years which utilized rescued horses to help in recovery of PTSD people of all ages. I retired that nonprofit in order to become a therapeutic foster mom. Now some years later I have begun Jesse's Place to bring hope and healing to foster kids and named it in honor of my foster son, Jesse.
Our programs are age and ability appropriate and include team and confidence building activities with the horses and therapy dogs along with art, music and drama therapy.
