JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for coverage of the Ronald McDonald Family Room (located in the Janet Weis Children's Hospital) desk during operating hours.

Performs duties to provide the highest level of guest relations and satisfaction.

All Applicants need to pass a screening process which includes background clearances, drug and nicotine checks. (This is of no cost to the applicant.) After all checks have been completed, applicants will then be on-boarded as Geisinger Medical Center (GMC) and Ronald McDonald House (RMHD) volunteers. Applicant must be 18 years or older.

Reports to the Assistant Manager/Volunteer Coordinator.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Welcomes guests and provides orientation to the services provided within the RMFR and documents check-ins.
• Give tours of the room to visitors, hospital staff, etc.
• Answers the telephone and provides guidance regarding RMFR policies.
• Performs established procedures to open and close the RMFR. Documents for the management staff any maintenance or other issues that may require attention.
• Maintains confidentiality regarding guest information.
• Listens with empathy to guests.
• Stocks RMFR with supplies and removes out of service expired items. Communicates to Volunteer Coordinator anything that needs restocked.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

This individual should possess exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and as a team member.
