Restore the natural area of Franklin Park through invasive species removal and litter pickup! We will be removing invasive blackberry and ivy to support the native plants and animals.

What To Bring: Leather gloves if you have them, water bottle, and a snack.
What To Wear: Sturdy, closed-toed shoes or boots. Long pants and long sleeves. Dress for the Weather.

Work Party will take place Rain or Shine!

Tools and training will be provided. Restrooms are available in park.

"Chip in" by investing your time and talents to help improve parks and green spaces, protect neighborhood buildings and promote a healthy environment while also building a stronger community.

Description

Metro Parks Tacoma is a CAPRA-accredited, independent park district that leads efforts to build a healthy, sustainable community.

Metro Parks Tacoma offers a variety of experiences on its 2,905 acres:

  • Two AZA-accredited zoos
  • An old-growth forest inside 760-acre Point Defiance Park
  • Sports complexes, pools and spraygrounds
  • Community centers
  • A marina on Puget Sound
  • An accredited living history museum
  • 87 miles of trails
  • Nine community gardens
  • A golf course
  • A Victorian-style conservatory inside an arboretum
  • and hundreds of program offerings in sports, arts, and more.
