Mission Statement

GAAAYS IN SPAAACE (GIS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing diversity and inclusion in Hollywood and the Aerospace industry. Through entertainment and science-based advocacy we are boldly going where no one has gone before, beyond inclusion. With our youth initiatives such as the Inclusive Space Academy, we take direct action to empower LGBTQIA+ youth to be the leaders we so desperately need. It can not be emphasized enough, the youth are our future.

Description

Since its inception in 2016, Gaaays In Spaaace has recognized the indispensable value of community. With a track record of hosting over 200+ events, we've launched burgeoning Charitable Initiatives across a dozen major US cities, featuring over 60 celebrity guests to the delight of 20,000+ fans and counting! Join us in this galactic journey of camaraderie and discovery, as we continue to expand our horizon, celebrating the vibrant spectrum of humanity! We work in conjunction with partners such as studios, actors, scientists, tech entrepreneurs and philanthropists to build a better and more hopeful future where diversity and inclusion are the foundation of society. When working with allies and the general public, we strive to replace ignorance with knowledge and an empathetic understanding of the LGBTQIA+ experience. We strive to advance the hopeful vision of our future as dreamed up on STAR TREK & THE ORVILLE where universal equality has FINALLY become a reality. Sci-Fi is so powerful because it shows us the possibilities we often do not see off-screen and if you can see it, you can be it! Representation is often one of the first steps needed to inspire someone’s life path.
