The Pleasant Hill Ranger District is seeking a Campground Host at Horsehead Lake Recreation Area. The 98-acre lake is situated in the heart of the Ozarks. Visitors to this area will enjoy rolling green hills lining the Arkansas River, which separates the Ozark and Ouachita mountain ranges. Home to several species of sportfish, the lake offers anglers opportunities for bass, bluegill, catfish and crappie fishing. This area provides numerous opportunities to get out in nature and enjoy one of the most beautiful lakes in the area. The Pleasant Hill RD is also known for its beautiful, natural scenery, sandstone bluffs, flowing streams, lakes and pristine landscapes. Recreation opportunities include, but are not limited to, canoeing, hiking, fishing, swimming and more.

Volunteer Hosts will be expected to:

  • Provide friendly service and recreation information to campers, hikers, bicyclers, and day-use visitors.
  • Greet visitors at the camping loop, day-use area and facilities twice a day
  • perform some litter pick-up, and daily clean the restrooms/showers in all the picnic/day-use/campground areas.
  • Work Schedule: Thursday - Monday, minimum 4 hrs. a day.

Hosts are provided with an RV space, including full 50-amp hookup with water/septic.

From Clarksville take Arkansas 103 northwest for 8 miles, turn left (west) on Arkansas 164 and go 4 miles, turn right (north) on FS 1408 for 3 miles.
