Warehouse Volunteers: Individuals are needed to monitor and sort food product in the containment room at the Food Bank.
Items from local stores that are bruised, dented, and/or unable for resale are donated to the Food Bank and placed in the Salvage Room. The volunteer will undergo training to determine whether the item(s) are still useable to distribute to Food Bank clients.
Volunteers are needed on the following days and times;
- Tuesday 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm
- Wednesday - Thursday 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, and 1:00 PM to 3:30 pm.

Second Harvest is dedicated to feeding the hungry. The vision is to ensure that people at risk for hunger in Northeast Tennessee always have access to food. The mission is to secure food from national manufacurers, grocers and individuals then redistribute that food to 200 food pantries, soup kitchens, childrens programs and other nonprofit charities that feed the hungry in our region.
Description
The Food Bank has a variety of volunteer needs that relate to our Food for Kids Programs, Warehouse, Mobile Food Pantry,and Senior Grocery Program that helps to serve citizens within 8 neighboring counties in Tennessee.
