Check-in food insecure individuals and families at our drive-thru reception during weekly food distributions. ADULTS ONLY
Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from 9AM-11:30AM, Foothill Unity Center has food distributions to ensure members of our community can receive groceries and not go hungry. We need volunteers to assist with checking in our food insecure clients at our drive-thru reception.

PERFECT OPPORTUNITY if you are:

  • Looking to develop professional skills (i.e. data entry, clerical skills)
  • Need community service hours
  • Friendly and welcoming demeanor
  • Bilingual in Chinese or Spanish (not mandatory)
  • Eager to serve the community

Description

The Center acts as a lifeline for very low-income individuals and families who are struggling to survive. Clients are often unemployed, employed at wages too low to provide for their families, on welfare, or facing a temporary crisis. It also serves seniors, homeless, disabled, emancipated foster youth, victims of domestic violence, and students on limited incomes.

We provide critical support, in the form of food, heath services and crisis referrals to very low-income families and individuals in crisis. We work with other agencies to provide long-term shelter, counseling, medical, educational, employment and other assistance.
