Back on My Feet combats homelessness through the power of fitness, community support, essential employment and housing resources. We emphasize building community as it enhances the skill development and job search experience for BoMFmembers on their journey to self-sufficiency.
Bilingual volunteers (English and Spanish) will help to translate for our members whom English is a second language. They will assist our mentors who play an integral part in the "next steps" that our members take as they are identifying and working towards their employment and training goals on their path to self sufficiency. As an extended support network, mentors provide 1:1 attention sharing experiences, insight, support, and ideas.

Mission Statement
Back on My Feet empowers people to achieve economic independence through fitness and community. Who We Help: We work with people experiencing homelessness or addiction who currently reside within shelters and recovery facilities. How It Works: We run and walk 2-3 times a week to build a sense of community and responsibility. With the support of workforce development, our members can work toward sustainable employment and self-sufficiency.
Description
Back on My Feet seeks to revolutionize the way society approaches homelessness. Our unique model demonstrates that if you first restore confidence, strength and self-esteem, individuals are better equipped to tackle the road ahead. For all in need, we aim to provide: practical training and employment resources for achieving independence; an environment that promotes accountability; and a community that offers compassion and hope.
For all with the capacity to serve - volunteers, donors, community and corporate partners - we seek to engage you in the profound experience of empowering individuals to achieve what once seemed impossible through the seemingly simple act of putting one foot in front of the other.
