Are you passionate about cultural exchange and making a positive impact on the world? Greenheart, a 501c3 Non-Profit organization, is seeking enthusiastic individuals to become Local Coordinators (LCs) in North Dakota. As an Independent Contractor, you will play a vital role in placing international exchange students with volunteer American host families and supporting them throughout their transformative journey.

LC Responsibilities: As a Local Coordinator, your responsibilities will include:

  • Recruiting local families interested in hosting exchange students
  • Assisting families with the approval process before student arrival
  • Partnering with local schools to ensure acceptance of exchange student placements (must be accredited schools)
  • Hosting Pre-arrival Orientations with host families
  • Hosting Student Orientations with students
  • Coordinating Volunteer Activities
  • Monitoring students throughout the school year (via phone, email, and in-person)
  • The opportunity for domestic and international travel to annual conferences
  • Being a Mentor/Friend to some of the most inspiring and motivated students you'll ever meet

LC Requirements: To become a Local Coordinator, you should have:

  • Access to the internet at home or in your office
  • The ability to pass a background check
  • Successful completion of the DOS Test (Greenheart provides support and training)
  • Be OVER 26 years of age
  • Reside in the United States

Established in 1985, Greenheart Exchange, is a non-profit international education exchange organization dedicated to the promotion of cultural understanding, academic development, environmental consciousness and world peace. Based in Chicago, Illinois, Greenheart organizes high school exchange, short-term group homestay, intern and trainee, work & travel in the U.S. and study, teach, volunteer, and language programs in over 30 countries around the world. In 2004, CCI adopted Greenheart as its environmental and social initiative. Greenheart connects people and planet through environmentalism, fair trade, social transformation and cross cultural understanding. Greenheart has been endorsed by the Mayor of Chicago and the City Council for the promotion of international education, environmental awareness and citizen diplomacy.
