Can you rock? Can you read? Do you have a calming nature with babies? Hennepin Healthcare Newborn Intensive Care Unit is in need of volunteers who can spend time nurturing and reading to young patients, and occasionally helping staff with organizing and cleaning tasks. We are especially in need of multilingual volunteers to help meet the needs of our diverse community. Description

Hennepin Healthcare includes Emergency Medical Services, which operates a large fleet of ambulances serving 14 cities in Hennepin County.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 16
  • Orientation or Training
  • Most volunteers schedule a 3-4 hour shift once per week for 3-6 months. A coordinator will work with you to find a position that fits your schedule and your interests from among our openings. Daytime, evening and weekend hours are available.
  • You will need to complete a background study, and submit immunization records- TB testing, MMR and Varicella. Following orientation, 32 hours of service will be spent in our Welcome Services before starting in our NICU.
