ORGANIZATION: Easterseals Massachusetts (ESMA)

We are looking for active animal-lovers with experience leading horses, but we can also provide training to the right individuals ready for walking inside and outside, next to our horses for 1-4 hours at a time. We have adaptive riding lessons 7 days a week and hippotherapy (physical therapy using equine movement) Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays, and our leaders and sidewalkers provide physical support to the riders during their sessions. We have a strong need for Friday, Saturday and Sunday volunteers at this time.

You will learn to assist therapeutic (adaptive) riding instructors and physical therapists teaching participants how to groom horses, walk with horses, and ride horses! In exchange, you will commit to a weekly slot for the duration of our riding term (8-14 weeks). Regular attendance is essential to this position, as the students benefit from the same support staff each week.
