The Right Kind of Black Girl (TRKBG) is seeking new program committee members for its's Divine Wellness Program. TheTRKBG Program Committee works collaboratively together to plan, implement, and execute events, workshops, and general programming for TRKBG's program, Divine Wellness.

About TRKBG
The Right Kind of Black Girl Inc. (TRKBG) is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt not-for-profit organization founded in 2018 by Shambria Williams. Our mission is to provide a pathway to freedom through unity, advancement, and living a life of wholeness. We are committed to building a world where we thrive, uplift their communities, and each other as they journey to greatness.
Vision
We envisions a world where Black people, especially self identifying Black women and girls are not simply surviving but thriving. We take a holistic approach to supporting self identifying Black women and girls between the ages of 15 and 60 who want to make positive changes in their lives.
The Program
The Right Kind of Black Girl's Divine Wellness program is a transformative and holistic approach to empowering women of color to prioritize their well-being and embrace self-care on every level. This program is designed to address the unique challenges and experiences that Black women often face, providing them with tools and resources to achieve mental, emotional, and physical balance.
What we offer
By being apart of a non profit committee, you will be able to combine your drive to make the world a better place with the opportunity to enhance and develop your leadership skills. On the committee, you will join other members from different professional backgrounds united by a willingness to learn from the TRKBG community and each other.
We strive to provide opportunities for leadership and networking in the form of committee appreciation events, participation in training, mentorship, project management, and much more. We value each individual’s story and interests, and we are open to working together to find an ideal fit for each new member.
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for committed members who share our goal of being a resource to our communities, and who have the time and the willingness to share their expertise and network with TRKBG. Particularly, we are looking for individuals with interest and expertise in:- Holistic modalities of healing
- Lifestyle Coach
- Herbalism
- Mental Health
- Fitness & Nutrition Coaches
Currently we are looking for individuals who might have some of the qualities below:
- Represent the communities we serve and work with
- Have experience with nonprofit, such as measuring program impact, setting and accomplishing programmatic goals.
- Impeccable organizational skills
- Currently looking to enhance or increase leadership skills.
- Work collaboratively with others.
- Have experience in marketing, communication, and networking
- Have a passion for embodying and helping others to embody mind, body, spirit, and emotional balance
- Social media and marketing experience.
Committee Chair
- The committee chair must arrange a monthly official meeting, either in person or via conference call, ensuring regular committee interactions.
- The chair is tasked with advertising and publicizing the event across TRKBG's social media channels.
- Stay informed about emerging talents in your specific domains whom we should consider hosting and collaborating with.
- Deliberately responsible for recruiting to meet the minimum of five active members in your committee. President and eboard, and committee members can help and recommend as needed.
- Committee members are kept up to date on upcoming events, fostering opportunities for partnerships and enhancing our membership.
- Encourage and assist committee members in their development as leaders.
- Collaborate with chairs of other committees to explore potential partnerships. Regular quarterly meetings are essential to identify ways in which committees can collaborate effectively. Remember, no committee operates in isolation; teamwork is key to our success.
- Taking into account the suggestions from committee members, the committee chair will assign internal roles such as facilitator, gatekeeper, recorder, strategy analyst, etc., to enhance efficiency and ensure productive meetings.
Committee Members
- Our focus is our community so be proactive regarding current events, local and national service opportunities, and training opportunities.
- Review all relevant material before committee meetings.
- Attend committee meetings and voice objective opinions on issues
- Support the efforts of the committee chair and carry out individual assignments made by the chair.
- Work as part of the committee and staff team to ensure that the committee's work and recommendations are in keeping with the general organizations mission and goals.
- Where appropriate, guide the committee in proposing new activities and service that will further the mission and goals of the organization.
- Active Participation: Actively engage in committee discussions, meetings, and initiatives, contributing valuable insights and ideas.
- Stay Informed: Keep updated on the committee's goals, projects, and developments, ensuring a thorough understanding of the committee's objectives.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with fellow committee members, fostering a positive and inclusive team environment.
- Contribute Expertise: Utilize your unique skills, knowledge, and experiences to contribute effectively to the committee's projects and initiatives.
- Attend Meetings: Attend all scheduled committee meetings, actively participate, and come prepared with relevant materials or updates related to assigned tasks.
- Task Ownership: Take ownership of assigned tasks, complete them diligently, and adhere to deadlines, ensuring the smooth progress of committee projects.
- Initiative: Proactively identify opportunities for improvement, propose innovative ideas, and actively seek ways to enhance the committee's effectiveness.
- Communication:Maintain open communication with the committee chair and fellow members, promptly sharing updates, concerns, or relevant information.
- Networking: Build connections within and outside the committee, exploring potential partnerships and collaborations that align with the committee's goals.
- Feedback: Provide constructive feedback, suggestions, and recommendations to help enhance the committee's strategies and outcomes.
- Professional Development:Continuously enhance your skills and knowledge relevant to the committee's focus, staying informed about industry trends and best practices.
- Commitment:Demonstrate dedication and commitment to the committee's mission, goals, and organizational values, representing the committee professionally at all times.

We have come together to initiate a strong re-enforcement of that infrastructure by forging our collectivepaths through corporate, entrepreneurial, social, and personal obstacles. We take a holistic approach to supporting Black women and girls from the Afrikan diaspora between the ages of 15 and 60 who stem from generational poverty to cultivate sisterhood by empowering them to lead, innovate, and serve our communities. We are dedicated to aiding our communities in living a life of wholeness that is define uniquely for every individual we serve.
