Sort donated items, hang out with other likeminded individuals, and get a workout in! We need your help organizing in-kind donations from our generous supporters so that we can quickly get them into the hands of those who need the items most

Why: Sometimes our new residents come in without basic necessities like clean, properly fitting clothing or basic hygiene items. LAFH occasionally receives whole truckloads of items, but we need your help quickly sorting them into type, size, etc so we can get them out to participants right away.

Who: L.A. Family Housing (LAFH) works to help families transition out of homelessness and poverty through a continuum of housing enriched with supportive services. Founded in 1983, LAFH served more than 2,500 people living in poverty this past year through its multiple housing and supportive service programs, and has served over 100,000 people since its inception. In total LAFH owns and operates 21 properties, including three homeless shelters and 18 permanent rental properties.

What's Required:

Must be comfortable standing and lifting up to 25 lbs

Must show proof of vaccination

Must be over age 14

Any volunteers under age 14 must be accompanied by an adult who also signs up and participates. One adult may supervise up to 3 minors.

You might get a little dirty - it's dusty and there's lot of cats!

Bring some water in case it gets hot
