SETTING THE STANDARD
FOR PHILANTHROPY
Board members are passionately committed to making a difference by investing and sharing
the responsibility to care for children, youth, and families who are experiencing the foster
care system.
They have a unique opportunity to take further action by connecting with other dedicated
donors, community partners, and volunteers.
As a board member, you will invest time, professional expertise, talent, and engage your
personal sphere of influence. You are a legal steward of the Regional Chapter and are
publicly listed on the Regional Chapter’s website.
Regional Chapters rely on their boards for many functions: governance and budgeting,
guidance, community involvement and, of course, fundraising. Each Regional Chapter is
required to have 100% financial board participation. It is essential that each board member is
an active participant in ensuring the financial health of the Regional Chapter. National
Angels prefers a "give and get" approach, obligating the board member to lead with a
personal investment, inspiring others by saying "join me," rather than outsourcing their
responsibility to others.

Mission Statement
The Charlotte Angels mission is to walk alongside children, youth, and families in the foster care community by offering consistent support through intentional giving, relationship building, and mentorship.
Description
We provide support to foster families and children in our community. Over half of foster homes close within the first year due to the lack of support. Not only do the children experience the initial trauma of being removed from their home, but they then experience another layer of trauma if they are forced to move to another home or homes. We step in to make sure these homes can stay open, providing stability and consistency. Without community support, we can’t match families with assistance or meet their needs.
Our organization offers two main programs:
Our Love Box program matches a volunteer in the community with a foster family.
Our Dare to Dream mentorship program matches a mentor with a youth in foster who is at risk of aging out of the system.
