**Position Overview:**

The Social/Advocacy Website Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our organization's website focused on social advocacy. They will collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure the website supports our advocacy efforts effectively.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Design and develop a user-friendly website to promote social advocacy initiatives.

- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

- Implement features that enhance user engagement, accessibility, and advocacy impact.

- Ensure website functionality and performance meet organizational goals and user needs.

- Integrate content management systems and other tools to streamline website management.

- Conduct testing and troubleshooting to resolve issues and optimize website performance.

- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in website development and social advocacy.

**Qualifications:**

- Bachelor’s degree in Web Development, Computer Science, or related field preferred.

- Proven experience in website development, with a focus on advocacy or social causes.

- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and content management systems (e.g., WordPress).

- Strong understanding of UX/UI principles and accessibility standards.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

- Passion for social advocacy and leveraging technology for positive change.

Description

As a Third Party Survey Provider HVA has designed a unique, HIPPA compliant, member based Social/Advocacy web platform to carry out our mission.
It allows Members to regain a portion of the camaraderie they lost at separation as they chat with their peers on the timeline and meet at a variety of online and in-person events hosted by HVA, the VA and regional VSOs.
Members are also encouraged to:
-Vote in their Clinic's 'How Was Your Day at the VA? poll
-Give an 'Atta-boy to their Clinic, or employee
-Discuss healthcare problems with others of the same clinic
-Respond to online surveys developed by the VA
-Request advocacy under the Member Initiated Reporting Process (MIRP)
