Friends of PPLD

We're looking for friendly faces! Friends of the PPLD, a non-profit organization supporting local public libraries for over 70 years, needs a book-loving volunteer who would enjoy processing book donations on Saturdays. The task includes sorting for quality and by genre, then displaying/shelving materials in our Friends area for sale. No money handling is required, and training is provided. Shift is weekly on Saturdays for two to three hours between 10 am and 5 pm.

Information about Friends is on our website, www.friendsofppld.org. To apply, fill out the Volunteer Application provided on our website.

Mission Statement

Mission: the Friends of the Pikes Peak Library District supports the Pikes Peak Library District in providing programs and spaces that cultivate belonging, personal growth, and strong communities. We achieve this by: • Growing and retaining a thriving diverse membership • Recruiting and leading strong, dedicated volunteers • Providing affordable books for library patrons through our bookstores and book sales • Raising money through book sales programs membership and donations

The Friends of the Pikes Peak Library District was established on March 11, 1955 in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Colorado Springs Public Library, and incorporated as a nonprofit organization in 1969.
We support the Pikes Peak Library District by serving as community advocates, raising funds to enhance library services and programs, promoting the love of reading and books, and recirculating materials in environmentally responsible ways.
