Who We Are

Kitty of Angels ("KoA") is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that provides funds and resources for homeless cats and kittens in Los Angeles County. Our primary focus is on animals at risk of being euthanized in city shelters, including underage kittens and cats with health needs. We match these at-risk animals with volunteers within our ever growing foster network, and we host community-based events with Camp Kitty to help find these cats or kittens loving fur-ever homes.

Role purpose

The goal of the KoA social media team is to build a vibrant social media presence, increase awareness of our community service & what we do, educate the public on available resources, engage our existing communities (fosters/volunteers, adopters, etc.) online, generate new audiences and drive people towards participation.

Role responsibilities

  • Help design and grow KoA’s social media brand & strategy
  • Generate, edit, and publish engaging content (e.g. photos, videos, info-graphics, animations and memes)
  • Engage in copywriting for posts across multiple platforms
  • Assist with scheduling posts & moderation of pages
  • Assist with marketing & strategy to develop brand awareness and develop long-term growth strategy
  • Graphic design/video production
  • Attend a handful of local Camp Kitty events to take pictures and videos to use for content

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Must love cats and kittens!
  • Experience working in or studying advertising/marketing, communications, journalism, creative writing, graphic design, video, editing, animation and/or social media
  • Experience in design program Canva and social media program Later is a plus.
  • Experience in generating & delivering creative social media content across various channels (Instagram, Facebook,TikTok and Patreon) for an audience would be highly regarded
  • Experience with animation, storyboarding and comedic videos would also be well regarded
  • Creative problem solving and outside of the box thinking
  • Enthusiastic and eager to work within a dynamic team
  • At ease working independently and as part of a team to share the workload

Mission Statement

Kitty of Angels is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that provides funds and resources for homeless cats and kittens in Los Angeles. Our immediate goal is to place at-risk animals into foster homes until they are able to be adopted into loving homes. While fostering is an immediate goal, we are also focused on adoptions, partnering with shelters and communities. While achieving our goals, we want to share every step of our journey.

Description

We are a foster-based rescue helping cats and kittens, our focus being neonatal kittens which are at most risk in the shelters. We are volunteer run from the top to the bottom, but as we grow, we need more administrative-based volunteers.
