We have a large population of older adults (seniors) throughout western Queens and specifically Astoria looking for friendly visitors. A friendly visitor is a companion for senior who visits them in their home once a week in order to reduce social isolation and improve the senior's quality of life.
With your friend, you can:
- Develop a friendship with a senior
- Hear interesting stories
- Talk about favorite books & movies
- Play board games
- Attend workshops together
Please note that all volunteers must be over 18 years old and live in New York City and New Jersey or Connecticut.
