You used to be the nerve center of the entire organization, and loved making things work smoothly. You was a great planner, but whenever there was a hiccup, it was also fun to grab the fire hat and put out the fire. Most of all, you loved making the fires infrequent: my management loved good processes and didn’t care for emergencies
Speaking of management, you didn’t have a meddling manager. They trusted you, and appreciated your ability to problem solve. You was good at managing people, but you also liked doing your own work in your own way. You liked seeing your systems working well, but also liked the person who could come up with a solution for something that was a little bit "different". Admit it, you do like to make decisions, and to be appreciated. Now that you're retired, you don’t get to use those talents much anymore. And you sure don’t want another job. You have a life, maybe grown kids or parents, long vacations, there may be days or weeks when you have less energy, and days when you just want to play. But you do miss the feeling of accomplishment, and having your work make a difference. Wouldn't you love to find a nonprofit that has a big impact on the community (60,000 pairs of shoes distributed to 100 nonprofits each year), is 100% volunteer, who values your skillset and lets you build your own "position" in the group to fit your life, skills, and personality. Let's chat on the phone, or meet at our room and sort some shoe and talk.

About Changing Footprints
Location:
10291 N. Meridian, Locations in Rushville, Indianapolis, Greenfield, INDIANAPOLIS, IN 46290, US
Mission Statement
Changing Footprints realizes the great need for shoes around the world as protection from diseases and a gateway to education. Because of that need we collect new and gently used shoes for distribution to homeless, disaster-stricken, or underprivileged people locally, nationally, and internationally regardless of race, religion, gender, or ethnicity.
Description
Changing Footprints collects used shoes from a variety of sources: collection bins at shoe stores and churches, shoe drives by schools, churches, civic and governmental agencies, and donations of customer returns by shoe companies. We sort, classify by type, and quality check, and then provide the right type of shoes at no charge to agencies, individuals, and organizations who put them on the feet of those in need. We are a 100% volunteer organization with no paid staff and provide 15,000 pair of shoes per year to those in need, locally, in the US, and to international destinations. This diverts shoes otherwise destined for landfills to a important cause, educates our youth that they can make a personal difference, helps those in need, as well as those that volunteer their time, effort, and ideas. We are a flat organization that supports any volunteer with an idea they would like to try - in the words of our youth, "it's all good".
