Work with individual clients to help them select the furniture and household items that they need. This position requires strong customer service skills and a willingness to help people in need. Client Assistants will be on their feet during the duration of their shift. The ability to speak Portuguese or Spanish is a plus, but not required.

Long or short term commitments are possible, though regular commitment is expected. Great opportunity for teens and adults.

2 Shifts

  • morning / 08:30 AM to 12:00 PM EST
    Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturdays
  • afternoon / 12:30 PM to 04:00 PM EST
    Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays

Household Goods is an independent 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization based in Acton, MA that provides household goods, free of charge, to people in need.

Description

We accept donations of gently used household items that will help people make a home. Our volunteers receive, sort and distribute items to individuals and families from over 130 communities in eastern Massachusetts. As an organization staffed by volunteers, we depend on the generosity of community members for goods, time and financial support.

  • Each shift is 3.25 hours. Volunteers are asked to commit to at least 30 hours in their first year.
