The Greater Buffalo Counseling Centers (GBCC) serves the WNY community by providing quality, affordable, person-centered counseling and referral services for individuals and couples experiencing stress and life changes. Peer counselors are trained and supervised in a dynamic and caring environment.

We are seeking to augment and expand our Board of Directors and Steering Committees in anticipation of expansion and growth of our services. We welcome volunteers from all backrounds and levels of experience.

We are seeking help with the following areas:
- General Board Membership
- Community Outreach
- Development
- Membership
- Social Media and Digital Presence

The Greater Buffalo Counseling Centers, Inc., has served countless thousands of WNYers since its founding more than 50 years ago. And although our region has changed much in that time, one thing has not: GBCC’s commitment to its core principles of acceptance, confidentiality and compassion.

Description

Greater Buffalo Counseling Centers, Inc., (GBCC) is a non-profit agency that offers compassionate, supportive, low- (or no-) cost counseling to the Western New York community. Volunteer peer counselors create a safe, welcoming environment to those who find themselves suffering from feelings of loss, anxiety, anger, and/or hopelessness. In doing so, the organization provides real-life experience to area college students and compassionate individuals from all walks of life who want to assist others through life’s difficulties. Founded in the early 1960s, GBCC has helped countless community member around Western New York who simply would have had no where else to turn. We invite you to learn more about our agency and the critical services it provides.
