I'm glad you have chosen AccentCare Hospice as it is a very rewarding experience for our volunteers and patients alike. AccentCare strives to provide excellence in end-of-life care for patients and their families. AccentCare has developed several specialty roles, which allow volunteers to utilize their own strengths and interests. This offers a meaningful and rewarding volunteer experience and enhances the quality of life for our patients and families. AccentCare is always looking for caring and dependable individuals who are interested in giving their time to patient care and/ or willing to assist in the office with administrative duties. Involvement in this program can be beneficial for both our hospice patients and volunteers. AccentCare perceives Volunteers as an essential part of the hospice team.
How Volunteers Help:
- Offering compassionate friendship
- Giving companionship to caregiver
- Reading
- Writing letters and cards
- Holding Hands
- Listening
- Helping patient write his/ her life story
- Working on crafts or other projects
- Helping with Makeup or Hair
- Playing cards or other games
- Providing short term- breaks for caregivers
There will be a Final Live Teams class you will have to attend to complete the training to become a direct/indirect patient care volunteer.
