Every Thanksgiving season Jacob A. Riis Neighborhood Settlement gears up for a very special seasonal tradition. We open our doors to the community for a delicious Thanksgiving dinner and set a goal to serve a minimum of 1,000 - 1,200 meals within four hours. This event is called the Fall Family Feast, which will be held on Saturday November 16th, from 12 - 4 pm.

The Fall Family Feast is a huge undertaking and we need many volunteers to make this a success.

Volunteers may sign up for various shifts:

Friday, November 15th:

1:30 pm - 5:30 pm and 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Saturday, November 16th:

9:00 am - 1:00 pm, 11:00 am - 4:00 pm, 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Responsibilities include: set-up, homebound deliveries (usually begins around noon), serving, troubleshooting, ushering, and cleaning up.

Jacob A. Riis Neighborhood Settlement House is a community based non-profit organization that offers comprehensive services to the youth, adults, seniors and families in the Western Queens Community. Description

A multi-service community-based organization in Long Island City Queens, Riis Settlement offers after-school programs for youth, adolescent services, immigrant services, including adult ESOL classes, and Senior Citizen support programs.
