Clean/Trim Garden Areas in Backyard for Older Adult

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: SeniorHelp Volunteer Program

  • 1 person is interested

This older adult in our community would greatly appreciate help with cleaning garden areas in their back yard. The volunteer who responds would need to take a weed eater, hedge trimmers, and an extension cord to help with the project.

By joining efforts with SeniorHelp, you will be helping older Nebraskans remain independent and in their own homes. In addition, you will be helping them improve the quality of their lives.

Please let us know today about your willingness to help this deserving individual!

About SeniorHelp Volunteer Program

Location:

Eastern NE Office on Aging, 4780 S 131st St, Omaha, NE 68137, US

Mission Statement

To help older Nebraskans live independently, live with dignity, and remain for as long as possible in their own homes.

Description

SeniorHelp is a program offered through the Eastern Nebraska Office on Aging. SeniorHelp volunteers provide direct services to aging adults in the community needing assistance with such things as transportation, companionship, home maintenance, household/personal assistance (light housekeeping, organization, reading mail, laundry, etc.), interior/exterior painting, yard work, snow removal, and delivery of weekday Meals on Wheels. Our program coordinates both ongoing matches and one-time assignments. Volunteers can commit as little or as much time as they choose and most of our opportunities allow flexibility in scheduling.

All of our volunteers must be 19 yrs old or accompanied by a parent/guardian when volunteering. Because of the vulnerability of our clients, we are unable to disclose client information and set up assignments until a volunteer has enrolled in our program by completing an application. In addition to the application, etc., we screen volunteers by conducting a criminal background check and personal reference checks
