ORGANIZATION: Hagar's House

Volunteer at Hagar's House- a sanctuary for women, children, trans and gender nonconforming folks! Hagar's House promotes holistic programs like yoga, candle making, bike rides, savings program, and gardening all in efforts to stabilize families and individuals. Hagar's House is a multi-lingual shelter. A majority of the time we have Spanish speaking families and need Spanish interpreters for our Monday night circles. Monday night circles is a mandatory weekly meeting for residents. We are in search of volunteer interpreters that are willing to attend Monday night circles to interpreter for our Spanish speakers. Monday from 8-9pm. Thank you so much for all your interest and support!!

The mission of Hagar’s House is to serve as a sanctuary for women and children by providing an open and empowering residential community, resource coordination and a safe space to transition into sustainable housing.

Hagar's House provides:

  • A savings program in which working residents save 70% of their income
  • Healthy food and space to plant in a community garden
Hagar's House does not rely on government funding so that we are better able to serve all families. Our community and services are open to those in need without regard to race, religion, creed, color, sexual orientation, national origin, age, gender identity or immigration status.
