Hospice is a compassionate approach to end-of-life care. The goal of Hospice is to help people with serious illness live life fully, maintain their dignity and keep personal control over their lives. Hospice is available to anyone with an illness whose life expectancy is measured in months, rather than years.
When more time cannot be given, we can help to make the most of the time one has left.
Volunteer Opportunities:
Patient Care-offer companionship and support to patients and their families, finish projects(photo albums, scrap booking, crafts)Life History, Ethical review, assist in writing letters, thank you cards
Respite Care-Relieve caregivers who are physically and emotionally exhausted, allowing them a break
Bereavement Support-Provide support and help through death and grieving process,
Comfort Care Volunteers-Provide comfort related therapyMusic therapy, assist with personal grooming: comb their hair, apply lotion, nail polish, make-up. Or fix a bowl of soup, make a sandwich
Office Support-Provide administrative services to the Hospice staff.
Kids Grief Camp: a one day camp to help kids dealing with the loss of a love one
Memorials: 2 X a year we remember those who have died, by honoring them with a live butterfly release

Hospice provides palliative care management, which includes: emotional and spiritual support to patients and their families who are facing life-limiting illness in homes, hospitals and nursing homes. Intermountain Homecare understands that hospice is not about dying, it's about living each day as fully as possible.
