Silverado Hospice Care is seeking Veteran, active duty or reserve military personnel to recognize and honor our Veterans on hospice service. We typically host ceremonies throughout Southern California during the month of November. Due to the nature of hospice, and the population we serve being at and of life, we would like to take the opportunity to honor our Vets when they first come on to our care, year-round!
These meetings, or celebrations will take place in our patients' homes, assisted livings, skilled nursing homes. Wherever the patient receives care.
Join our compassionate team and make a meaningful impact in the lives of veterans in hospice care. Volunteer for our weekly "Companionship Vet to Vet" program, where you'll have the opportunity to provide companionship, support, and a listening ear to veterans facing end-of-life journeys. Your presence can bring comfort and camaraderie to these heroes who have served our nation. Join us today in honoring their service by becoming a hospice volunteer.
We request that you come in uniform with a big smile on your face!
Your duties will include:

Mission Statement
It is our mission to affirm the cycle of life by enhancing the quality of living for those at the end of life. The Silverado standard is to care compassionately for patients and families and to empower those we serve to have quality of life options that afford them comfort and dignity.
Description
Silverado Hospice honors the value of each life by empowering the patient and family to make supported choices in end-of-life care, enhancing comfort, relieving suffering and supporting effective grieving. We believe that Hospice patients have the right to continue life to the fullest extent possible according to their circumstances, and in fostering opportunities for growth and fulfillment. We further recognize patients and families decision-making rights in relation to continuing medical treatments and their right to withdraw treatment whose benefits are outweighed by their burdens. Silverado believes in equal opportunity and non-discrimination for our clients, our associates, and our community.
