We are in need of caring volunteers who would like to make a difference in the lives of people facing the end of their life
Specifically, we are looking for compassionate people to provide companionship and support to patients with limited visitors that want more social interaction on an ongoing basis. This may include chatting, playing music, playing cards, or holding hands.
. Our volunteers are full members of our hospice team and often form close ties with the patient and their family. We are specifically looking for someone to sit and read to our patents, as some people are now unable to do this themselves due to disease progression. In our Volunteer Orientation class you will understand some of the challenges that face patients and families and ways you can bring quality of life and compassionate care to them.
As a hospice volunteer you will learn about the hospice philosophy, communicating with patients and families, family dynamics, spiritual care and the grief process.
Please consider joining our team as we honor life and offer hope to those who need us most.
