Position Title: Volunteer Marketing Specialist
Organization: Chiquita Jackson Enterprise
Location: Remote or In-person (as needed in Maryland, Michigan, Virginia, and Washington D.C.)
Reports To: Director of Communications

Position Summary:
Chiquita Jackson Enterprise Corp is seeking a creative and driven Marketing Specialist to support our mission across all programs. The Marketing Specialist will play a vital role in shaping the public narrative, engaging our community, and amplifying the impact of our initiatives through strategic communication efforts. This volunteer position is ideal for individuals passionate about storytelling, social impact, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Content Creation and Management:

   • Develop compelling content for newsletters, press releases, social media platforms, blogs, and promotional materials.
   • Create and edit copy that aligns with the organization's voice and values.
   • Work with program teams to highlight success stories and program milestones.

2. Social Media Strategy and Management:

   • Manage and grow the organization’s presence on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Tik Tok and X (Formerly Twitter).
   • Develop and implement a social media calendar to ensure consistent and timely posts.
   • Monitor engagement metrics and adjust strategies to maximize reach and impact.

3. Public Relations and Community Engagement:

   • Draft and distribute press releases to promote events, programs, and initiatives.
   • Assist in cultivating relationships with local media and community partners.
   • Respond to media inquiries and provide information about the organization’s programs and mission.

4. Branding and Messaging:

   • Ensure consistency in branding and messaging across all platforms and materials.
   • Develop communication strategies to support fundraising campaigns and volunteer recruitment.
   • Collaborate with the leadership team to align communications with organizational goals.

5. Administrative Support:

   • Maintain a database of press contacts, social media analytics, and outreach activities.
   • Support the organization’s communication needs for events and campaigns.

Qualifications:

• Experience in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or a related field.
• Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
• Proficiency in social media platforms and content management tools.
• Creative thinker with excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Passion for social impact and community development.
• Familiarity with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite) is a plus but not required.

Time Commitment:

• Flexible schedule with an estimated commitment of 5-10 hours per week.
• Occasional evening or weekend availability may be required for events or deadlines.
