ORGANIZATION: National Park Service

Season: Intermittent Position Filled as Suitable Applicant is Selected. Minimum Length of Volunteer Service is a Month.

Short description: Live and Work in Yosemite. Working in the Yosemite Valley Research Library providing assistance in a variety of tasks.

Housing Type: Shared Housing in Yosemite Valley or El Portal Dependent on Funding


Volunteers will help will a wide array of office work, including but not limited to: filing, data entry,

data management, processing library materials, specific projects such as inventory, re-organization of

collections and accounting.


Qualifications/Eligibility:

· Must be a U.S. Citizen.

· Age requirement of 18 and over.

· Volunteers may be bending, twisting, and lifting frequently. They should be able to do so

without injuring themselves. Ability to lift boxes up to 35 pounds.

· Basic clerical and computer skills.

· Must have good reading and writing skills; have close attention to detail; good penmanship.

· Have an interest in Library Science


Volunteering for the National Park Service is a great way to open new doors and career opportunities in

the parks and resource management field. The Yosemite volunteer program is one of the largest in the

park system, and provides tens of thousands of hours of volunteer work each year. The volunteer in the

office will help to support this work and take pride in making it possible.
