Mission Statement

As a registered community based organisation, our goal is to keep the children of our village called Kigungu away from the streets with a mix of learning and playing.

Description

From Monday to Friday between 10:00 and 12:00 we have our morning classes. That's our way to give, those who cannot afford to go to schools, a chance to learn at least the basics of the different subjects. Right now our focus is clearly on teaching English because even though it's the official language of the country many people around this area are not able to communicate in this language.
We also divide the children into different groups to make sure that everybody gets help on his individual level.
Because it's not possible for us to replace complete schools, we are always looking for godfathers which make the school visits for the children possible.

During the weekdays between 14:00 and 16:00, we just started our afternoon games. We think that the mixture of playing, singing and dancing can have a positive impact on the individual development of the children and can also promote cohesion and encouragement throughout the whole neighbourhood.

Every Saturday in the morning we organise events which so far contains several games for the children and teenagers on a field in the neighbourhood and we hope to generate more attention from the people in and around the Kigungu.
