Initiative: Beyond the Basics

Impact area: Basic Needs (food, clothing, housing)

Location(s): Hartford, CT

Hours: Wednesdays or Thursdays, 9:00am-12:00pm or 12:00-3:00pm

Desired level of commitment: once a week or bi-weekly

Duration: Year-round

Age requirement: 18+

Tasks may include:

  • Translating for ministry volunteers as they communicate and build relationships with clients
  • Translating for ministry volunteers as they guide clients in selecting food and clothing for their families
  • Translating for ministry volunteers as they offer resources, coaching and prayer
In order to volunteer, you should be:
  • A registered UAServe volunteer (you will have a chance to register if you haven’t already)
  • Willing to attend an orientation prior to volunteering
  • Willing to submit a background check
  • Willing to complete a Waiver of Liability Relating to COVID-19
  • Willing to follow COVID-19 Volunteer Safety Protocol
  • Open to an ongoing volunteer commitment that works with your schedule
  • Able to use own van or truck
